Privacy Policy
This notice describes the information the follo MVP uses to provide item following and seller notifications.
Information follo uses
follo stores an account email address; seller-provided item titles, prices, descriptions, original listing URLs, and optional thumbnails; follow relationships; which organizations you have chosen to share your email address with, and the requests you send them, with any message; answers you give to a follo's feedback question; price history; notification and email-usage records; the apps you connect and the permissions you approve for them; and subscription identifiers and status received from Stripe. follo does not store full payment-card details.
How the information is used
The information is used to authenticate accounts, publish follo item pages, maintain follows, send requested price-drop and account emails, enforce plan limits, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, and operate the service.
Follower privacy
Sellers can see how many people follow an item. They cannot see a follower's email address unless that follower chooses to share it with them, by ticking the box to share it when following, or by sending a request: asking the seller to contact them, asking a question, or requesting a showing. Sharing is with one organization, it covers that organization's follos, and it lasts until you stop it in Settings. Stopping prevents future access; it can't recall a copy the organization already saved or exported. follo delivers item emails only to people who explicitly followed that item.
A request goes to the organization with any question or note you add. When you ask a question or request a showing, follo emails the organization's members that a request arrived, without your email address or your message; they see those after signing in.
Answers to a follo's feedback question are anonymous to the seller. The same goes for any changes you say might make a difference. The seller sees totals and comments, never who gave them, and only after at least five followers have answered. For a property, anonymous totals may also contribute to local market summaries in Buyer Pulse: only as counts, only where at least five people following at least three different listings have answered, and never with a comment.
Buyer Pulse
If you join Buyer Pulse, follo stores your profile: your primary business ZIP code, the markets you serve, and, if you add them, your name and company. Your answers count toward your ZIP code's neighborhood, county and metro. They're anonymous unless you choose to show your name, or your name and company, on an answer.
Results show only where at least five agents have answered, as totals and comments. Other participants never see who gave an answer unless its author chose to show their name. A shared insight carries totals only, never a name or a comment.
Connected apps
You can connect an app, such as ChatGPT, to your follo account. You approve each connection on follo, and the approval screen lists what the app may do: view your items, what you follow and your alerts; create, edit and delete items, and follow or unfollow them; and send notifications to your followers.
A connected app receives your account's email address, your store name if you've set one, and a follo account identifier it uses to recognize the connection. When you ask it to do something, it receives the follo information that request needs, such as an item's title, price, status and follower count, or how many followers a notification reached. A connected app never receives follower email addresses or follower identities.
If you attach a photo in the app and ask to add it to an item, follo downloads the photo and keeps a copy until you confirm it on follo, and for no longer than an hour. follo stores each connection's access only as a one-way hash. What the app does with the information it receives is governed by that app's own privacy policy. You can disconnect an app at any time under Connected apps in Settings, and it then can't reach your account.
Public information and outside links
follo item pages are public. Their title, price, description, thumbnail, follower count, availability status, and link to the original listing may be visible to anyone with the URL. The original listing is operated by its seller or marketplace and has its own privacy practices.
Service providers
follo uses Firebase for hosting, authentication, database, storage, and functions; Stripe for subscriptions; and Resend for email delivery when configured. These providers process information needed to perform those services.
Retention and deletion
Unfollowing deletes the follow relationship immediately. Seller deletion makes an item inactive immediately and schedules permanent cleanup after 90 days. An unsubscribed seller's expired item is scheduled for cleanup 60 days after expiry; a subscribed seller's expired item is retained while the subscription remains live. Operational, billing, security, and email records may be retained as needed to run and protect the service.
Your choices
You may unfollow an item at any time. You may stop sharing your email address with an organization at any time in Settings. Sellers may mark an item sold or delete it. You may disconnect a connected app at any time. For an account or privacy request, email support@follo.ad.
Changes
This notice will be updated before follo introduces a materially different use of personal information, including a new marketing analytics destination.
