Guide
How do I send updates to people who scan a QR code?
Use a follo QR code instead of a plain link: people who scan it can follow, and then every update you send reaches them in follo, and by email on paid plans. A plain QR code only shows a page once; a follo lets you come back to them.
Step by step
-
Create a follo
Choose what it is and give it a title.
-
Replace your plain QR code with the follo code
Same spot: the sign, the flyer, the package.
-
Scanners follow
One tap and an email address.
-
Send updates whenever something changes
Followers hear from you until they unfollow.
What the message looks like
Hollow Oak Candles: new arrival
The winter scents are in, at the shop and the Saturday market.
Other ways, and when they're better
A plain QR code to your website
Better when there is nothing to follow up on. You can't reach the people who scanned it.
A social post
Better for reaching new people who don't know you yet. Followers only see it if the feed decides to show it.
An email list
Better for long newsletters with images and sections. It means sign-up forms, unsubscribes and a tool to run.
What follo is
follo is a one-way notification service that lets people follow a person, business, product, event, group, property, waitlist, or other subject through a link or QR code and receive updates from its owner.

Questions
Can I see who scanned?
No. You see how many people follow, and the email of anyone who chooses to share it with you; follo doesn't track scans.
Can I use the code on packaging?
Yes. The code is fixed, so it works on anything you print.
Does a follo without a price expire?
No. It stays active until you unpublish or delete it.
