Use case
Updates without an app or a group chat
Most people won't install an app or join another chat to hear from you. With follo they don't have to: a link or a QR code is enough.
Why people need this
Every new app is a reason to say no. Every new group chat is a source of noise and a list of everyone's number.
follo asks for an email address and nothing else, and it sends only what the owner chooses to send.
Three situations
Neighborhood lost and found: update
A grey cat with a red collar was found on Birch Street.
Rosa's Tacos: hours update
Closed Monday for the holiday, back Tuesday at 11.
Hornets parents: cancellation
Saturday's game is cancelled because of lightning.
How sharing works
A QR code works on paper, a sign or a screen. A link works in a text, an email, a bio or a listing. Both open the same follow page.
Followers get each update in their follo list, and by email on paid plans, unless they turn email off in their settings.
Why one-way fits
Without replies there is nothing to moderate and nobody's number to share. The owner speaks, and followers listen until they unfollow.
What follo is
follo is a one-way notification service that lets people follow a person, business, product, event, group, property, waitlist, or other subject through a link or QR code and receive updates from its owner.
